Turkeys for Tomorrow (TFT) Partners with The Outdoor Outpost for Wild Turkey Conservation

Common threads weave throughout each individual who calls the outdoors home. The same is true for the outdoor industry, of which is made up of the individuals who create it. Thus, it’s no surprise that people look to the wild turkey and know, without a doubt, that bird is worth saving. The founders of Turkeys for Tomorrow drew this same consensus. Thus, a new conservation organization was born.

    A Conservation Organization Is Born

The wild turkey restoration story is one of decline, followed by recovery, capped off with another decline. In the 2010s and early 2020s, states throughout the nation noticed a sharp drop-off in numbers. Simply, these birds face a wide array of threats, including predator impacts on nests, nesting hens, poults, and even adult birds. Of course, habitat degradation, total habitat loss, disease prevalence, and more, kill birds as well. These things and more have led to a need for renewed energy in wild turkey conservation.

In 2021, after a nationwide spirit of complacency and lack of interest amongst existing institutions to adequately address wild turkey decline, TFT Founder Ron Jolly and a host of other men and women founded Turkeys for Tomorrow (TFT). A conservation summit with 14 concerned individuals, and tireless planning that followed, birthed a brand-new 501(C)(3) non-profit organization equipped and determined to fight the decline of wild turkeys in America.

Since then, it has funded many research efforts, including Kentucky, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, and other places, just to name a few. More projects, including intensive studies on predator impacts and predator management, kick off in 2026.

Without question, TFT continues to lead in wild turkey research. Each year, discoveries made are helping wildlife agencies, wildlife biologists, private land managers, and everyday hunters to make better decisions for wild turkey conservation. That said, to continue these good works, it requires funding.

    Partnering for Conservation

Bill Brod, publisher and CEO of Outdoor Specialty Media Group and The Outdoor Outpost, anticipates a great relationship with TFT. He and The Outdoor Outpost believe in TFT’s mission. Thus, it’s partnering with the organization allows consumers to support its goals. Likewise, TFT is excited about this opportunity.

“TFT is proud to partner with the Outdoor Specialty Media Group because we share values on hunting, conservation, and all things about wild turkeys,” said TFT CEO Jason Lupardus. “This opportunity will provide our members a great avenue for more information and access to great outdoor products.”

The Outdoor Outpost feels strongly about wild turkey conservation. It’s pivotal to the longevity of the species.

“Outdoor Specialty Media Group, publisher of leading digital outdoor publications covering hunting, bowhunting, deer hunting, crossbow hunting, fishing, conservation, and the outdoor lifestyle, proudly su

pports the continued conservation of wild turkey species and the habitat they depend on,” Brod said. “Healthy wild turkey populations are the result of responsible wildlife management, hunter participation, habitat improvement, and strong conservation partnerships. Through its digital publications, Outdoor Specialty Media Group is committed to promoting ethical hunting, educating outdoor enthusiasts, and sharing stories that highlight the importance of protecting forests, fields, nesting cover, water sources, and the broader ecosystems that support wild turkeys and other wildlife.

“The Outdoor Outpost gives outdoor consumers a curated place to shop for gear, apparel, equipment, accessories, and outdoor lifestyle products, while giving outdoor brands a new sales channel backed by Outdoor Specialty Media Group’s growing network of digital publications, email audiences, social media reach, product reviews, buyer’s guides, and promotional content,” Brod continued. “By connecting hunters, conservation organizations, outdoor brands, and readers, Outdoor Specialty Media Group helps advance awareness for habitat stewardship and the future of America’s outdoor traditions.”

With such alignment between Outdoor Specialty Media Group’s values, and TFT’s mission, partnering through the Outdoor Outpost was a no-brainer for both organizations.

“Outdoor Specialty Media Group is proud to support Turkeys for Tomorrow and its mission to protect the future of America’s wild turkey populations,” Brod said. “As a media company built around hunting, conservation, habitat stewardship, and the outdoor lifestyle, we believe healthy wild turkey populations are essential to both wildlife diversity and our hunting heritage.

“Turkeys for Tomorrow is taking a science-based approach to wild turkey conservation by supporting research, habitat improvement, private-land stewardship, nesting and brooding cover, and predator management,” Brod continued. “They create and execute practical solutions that partner with rather than exclude biologists, landowners, hunters, and conservation partners to better understand and address declining turkey populations. For our readers, brands, and partners, supporting Turkeys for Tomorrow is a meaningful way to give back to the resource, strengthen habitat, and help ensure that future generations can experience the spring turkey woods.”

Help Fund Major Wild Turkey Conservation Research

Lupardus’ thoughts on TFT, its mission, and the recent partnership with The Outdoor Outpost, echo the same. If you share these values, it’s time to help fund major wild turkey conservation research.

“We appreciate companies that are really focused on the folks in the outdoors, as the people who hunt, fish, and shoot pay the bills for conservation,” Lupardus said. “Not only that, but The Outdoor Specialty Group also aligns with our mission for turkey conservation. This partnership is a great fit with our shared values.”

I’ve been an outdoor communicator since 2010. Since then, I’ve been blessed with a full-time career in the outdoors, and I’ve worked for most of the major hunting magazines and websites, including Field & Stream and Outdoor Life. As a deer and turkey hunter, these are the topics I cover most, but I also dabble in other areas, too, including conservation, predator hunting, small game hunting, and more.
